1.        PURPOSE:

The purpose of this QCP is to ensure that all works regarding below ground concrete encased conduit duct bank installation for instrumentation, electrical and telecom works and their fittings shall be done in accordance with the ARAMCO standards and all other applicable international codes and standards.

 

2.        SCOPE:

The scope covers the step to be followed for the installation of below grade concrete encased conduit duct bank installation for electrical, instrumentation and telecom works intended for permanent installation in the plant.

 

GAC E&I QC inspector ensure that the construction method of procedures is adhered to the ARAMCO standard with reference to approved project specifications.

5.        SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

 

5.1.        Ensure that the JSA job safety analysis is approved prior to start the activity work related to duct bank.

5.2.        Ensure all applicable work permit is approved related to underground conduit duct bank installation.

5.3.        All personnel involved in the activities shall wear complete personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with safe work requirements.

5.4.        Conduct job safety talk before starting the work.

5.5.        Conduit field offset or bend will be done as per approved field method.

5.6.        Place barricade and warning sign boards in applicable locations. Restrict personnel / equipment entering the work area

5.7.        Check adequacy and availability of all tools and equipment for erection and installation activities, before commencement of erection activity

 

6.        QA/QC REQUIREMENTS

 

6.1.        The quality control program shall be as per (SAES) Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards.

6.2.        The detailed inspection stages and methods shall be as per the approved inspection and test plan.

6.3.        All electrical and instrumentation materials for below grade conduit duct bank installation shall be inspected as per approved documents.

6.4.        All installed Electrical and instrumentation conduit shall be inspected for elevation and routine as per approved IFC drawings.

6.5.        Inspection and test plan must be submitted ahead of time for SAPMT, SAPID and TECNICAS RHEUNIDAS.

 

7.        METHOD OF PREPARATION

              

7.1.        Ensure excavation and trenching size and dimension is correct before formwork and/or conduit installation.

7.2.        Below grade Duct bank reference elevation minimum level is correct as shown in approved IFC drawing.

7.3.        Cable trench routing as per cable trench layout approved IFC drawing

7.4.        Check whether the area is ready for the conduit to be laid. Either it is underground or under slab and overhead installation

7.5.        Check that all Low and Medium Voltage cables shall be installed in accordance with the requirements of IEC 60364-5, wiring rules, for a category B underground wiring system. In addition, Medium voltage cables shall be buried to a minimum depth of 1.2 meters and low voltage power and control cables shall be buried to a minimum depth of 0.8 meters below final grade.

7.6.        .For Non-Metallic conduit and fittings joining recommended approved PVC cement and cleaner.

7.7.        Underground conduit shall be laid in excavated trench, clear from stone debris. Conduit under road should comply SAES-P-104 Table 2. Cable trench clean from hard materials

7.8.        Ensure pipe ends, adapter ends shall be sealed properly.

7.9.        Check that after the cable slab or protection covers have been placed in position the trench shall be backfilled and compacted.

7.10.      Backfill shall consists of material obtained from the excavation, or elsewhere, which is relatively free of roots, stumps or other pieces of organic material  and from stones or broken rock larger than 150mm.

7.11.      Cables under roadways and other vehicular traffic areas shall be run in suitable cable ducts, in accordance with the relevant Philippine installation standard.

7.12.      Check the installation of marker tape along the center line of each cable

7.13.      If not specified in the drawings, the fabricated Duck bank spacers shall be used at intervals not exceeding 2.4 meters as per SAES-P-104 Sec. 10.5.4

7.14.      Final inspection by Electrical / Instrumentation QC.

7.15.      Instrument to 150mm.
