PAINT SYSTEMS / MATERIAL SELECTION

Coating materials shall be selected as per the of SAES-H-001, Para 7 and Table E and SAES-B-006 Para 8.2.3.
Use APSC-1B primer only prior to the installation of intumescent fire proofing material on bare Carbone steel.
The intermediate and top coats of APCS-1B system are used over both fire proofing system.
Selection of fire proofing material shall be as per loss prevention department approval.
Qualifying documentation of fire proofing material(letter of approval)shall be submitted to Chief Fire Prevention Engineer for approval.
Supplier and Manufacturer shall be approved by Chief Fire Prevention Engineer.
Ensure that the applicators are authorized and approved by Chief Fire Prevention Engineer prior to commencing the application on site.
Sweep blast galvanized steel to abrade the surface prior to the application of APCS-1B primer.

REFERENCES:

The latest revision of Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards shall be used as per references and is part of this procedure to execution of work.
