SCOPE OF WORK

The procedure applies in all HVAC UNITS AHU’S & ACCU’S Refrigerant Copper Piping Pneumatic and Vacuum Testing for ACCU, AHU, SPLIT UNIT & FCU at Haradh & Hawiyah Field Gas Compression Project.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to set out the formal procedure at site for HVAC Testing for TAB with the Equipment AHU’S, ACCU’S , FCU’S, EXHAUST FANS, Fresh Air inlet and air outlet for supply and return including Variable Air Volume Units at Haradh & Hawiyah Field Gas Compression Project.

TESTING MEDIUM- NITROGEN PRESSURE TEST (PNEUMATIC TEST)

Do not attempt to repair any leak while the system is pressurized. If any leak is found, relieve the test pressure and perform repairs.
The piping will be checked with bubble test solution.
The pressure will be hold for a period of 10 minutes. If there is no visible loss of pressure after 10 minutes, the line will be deemed to be gas tight.
If pressure gauge indicated the pressure drop, the testing operations connection and shutoff valve be first rechecked for leak and tightened as necessary.
If pressure drop is still evident, then all joints and lastly the piping itself will be checked with bubble test solution.
As per ASME B31.5-2001 CHAPTER 6, SECTION 538.4.2 para. E –The pneumatic test pressure used shall be at least 110% of the design pressure. The test shall not exceed 130% of the design pressure of any component in the system. Recharge the system, as previously described, and allow it to remain under pressure for 10 minutes pressure at least 1.2 times the operating pressure. Refrigerating PIPE operational HIGH PRESSURE 400 PSI, according to 110%, testing should be 480 PSI. And LOW-PRESSURE Operating pressure 150 PSI according to 110% testing should be 180 PSI.
